Tammy Walker, a native
of Dallas, Texas, is one of the hottest names in the music industry.
Commonly known world-wide by fans as "Statyk", this professional
drummer, percussionist, rap artist and professional dancer was
once the frontline dancer for three-time Grammy Winner MC Hammer.
Walker, who is an accomplished drummer began her musical career at an early age and comes from a Christian background with her father being a gospel minister. As a young girl, dancing was always one of her favorite hobbies which won her numerous awards. Little did she know at the time, that one particular competition would give her the dream of a lifetime. She won first place in an MC Hammer Dance contest!
That contest allowed Walker to perform on tour with MC Hammer as his frontline dancer and labeled her as one of the most talented artists in the country. That exposure opened many opportunities for her to perform with a number of Grammy award winning artists such as Vanilla Ice, En Vogue, Levert, Stephanie Mills, and other known performers such as Master P and Queen Latifah.
As a self-proclaimed rap artist, Walker regularly performs in nightclubs, schools and recreational facilities and she is in the studio working on an up coming project. What sets her apart from many rappers are her positive lyrics which are geared towards young people encouraging them to stay away from drugs and violence.
Walker currently lives in Dallas and is still a member of her childhood church, Straightway Pentecostal Church, where she is a drummer, choir member and active Youth Leader teaching children in the church and community how to play the Drums.
